FREE ACTIVITY: How much heavier is a Sea Cow than you?

Balance Scales Early Intermediate Free activity home made math Measurement

This measurement activity uses scaled models as weights and balanced scales to find your weight in relation to the weight of one Sea Cow. Great for visual, hands on learners, we are looking at weight as well as introducing multiplication/division and ratio. It is designed for 8-10 year olds but go with what you feel your child is up to and adjust as required. Of course you can use any animal to make the comparison just research their weight and follow the steps using this new weight :)

This activity is part of The Mathematics of the Jungle Book Unit available in my shop. If you missed the other free activity from the unit you can find it here.

Need a set of balance scales? You can make you own like we did! Get my guide how to by signing up for my monthly email, press the tag up the top of the pag.

This is the last of the main activities from The Mathematics of the Jungle Book that I will be publishing on the blog, however you can get this unit as a part of @bearclaw.tribe Missions Around the World: India Curriculum. The complete homemademath unit will be available for free to the first 400 claimants, or for 25% off if you miss out. Go to Amber's etsy store or instagram for more details! I'm so excited to partner with Amber, the curriculum is well thought out and includes devotionals and all the links you need to do a thorough unit study on India, with lots of fun along the way.

Enjoy
