“Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean.” - Ryunosuke Satoro
Sometimes I can feel like what I am doing doesn't make a difference to the world. There can be overwhelming amounts of pain in our world and my middle class day to day existence seems futile. So much suffering and so little I can do. But the little I have, I WILL offer to use... will you join me?
Introducing: Games for Good
Games for Good is a short booklet of math games complied (with permission) from a variety of contributers on the #kidsmath101 hashtag on Instagram. The booklet has been put together to raise funds for kids in crisis, those suffering in Syria and the rest of the world. Although the majority of the games can be found through the above hashtag by purchasing this booklet you are supporting UNICEF's "Where the Need is Greatest" appeal.
The 18 games cover number recognition through to multiplication and division, and some can be adjusted further. Where possible editor's notes give hints to help you adjust games to a level to suit your family.
You can select your donation level from $2, $4 or $9 AUD. (Note that $1 from each purchase will be used to cover the costs of listing in the booklet. So if you choose the $4 AUD donation, the total cost is $5.)
Add some fun to your home, while giving your kids math practice, and disadvantaged children the world over a little helping hand.
A big THANK YOU to those who donated their ideas and images to the booklet.
